Original October 2026 announcement

One week of the holidays down, one more to fill with adventures. If the kids are ready to get out of the house, we’ve got a few lovely reasons to visit Adventure Alley this week: face painting, a visit from Rumi and a Messy Rainbows Potions Party, alongside plenty of indoor play.

Our October school holiday activities are happening at Adventure Alley, 17 Ride Way, Rosedale, near Albany on Auckland’s North Shore. Come for a family outing, stay for a café break and choose a day with something your children will enjoy.

What’s on from 5–9 October 2026?

Here’s the week at a glance. All times are Auckland local time.

  • Monday 5 October: $14 playground entry.
  • Tuesday 6 October: $10 Chicken Nugget Combo, plus a free ice block for the first 50 kids.
  • Wednesday 7 October, 11am–1pm: free face painting.
  • Thursday 8 October, 1–2pm: Rumi visits Adventure Alley.
  • Friday 9 October, 1–2pm: Messy Rainbows Potions Party.

Playground admission is required for your visit. See our school holiday ticket page for today’s ticket options; the historical offers below have ended. If you’re coming especially for an activity, check the listing or contact our team before booking for any activity-specific requirements.

Rumi is visiting on Thursday!

Have a Rumi fan at home? Put Thursday 8 October, 1–2pm in the diary. Rumi is visiting Adventure Alley, giving the kids something extra to look forward to during their day of play.

Plan to arrive before the visit starts so you have time to check in, sort the shoes and socks and settle in. The character visit runs for one hour; the playground is open from 8:30am to 5pm.

Free face painting on Wednesday

A little colour can make an ordinary outing feel special. Our free face painting runs on Wednesday 7 October, 11am–1pm, so you can plan your playground visit around it.

Bring a little patience if there’s a queue and leave time for play either side. Face painting is available during the advertised session, rather than throughout the whole day.

A hands-on Friday with Messy Rainbows

For children who love making and exploring, the Messy Rainbows Potions Party is on Friday 9 October, 1–2pm. It’s a creative addition to a day of climbing, sliding and bouncing.

Messy Rainbows is all about hands-on play and letting children explore at their own pace. Choose clothes you’re comfortable getting messy, and check with our team about participation or booking requirements before your visit. You can meet Carlie and learn more about Messy Rainbows on our website.

Indoor play, whatever Auckland’s weather does

You don’t need a special event to enjoy a holiday outing. Our indoor playground has a huge ball pit, slides, climbing areas, trampolines, hoops and a 20-metre inflatable, with play spaces for younger adventurers too.

That makes Adventure Alley a handy option when you’re looking for school holiday activities near Albany or a rainy-day plan on the North Shore. We’re family-owned, and as parents ourselves, we know it helps to have somewhere the children can move while the grown-ups feel welcome.

Our café has coffee, food and refreshments when it’s time for a break. Parents and caregivers stay to supervise during general playground visits, including holiday event visits.

Need holiday care rather than a family outing?

Our School Holiday Programme is a separate supervised service for children aged 5–10, running through 9 October 2026. It combines playground time with activities, games and creative challenges, led by Amy and Ryan with support from our team.

  • School Day: 9am–3pm, $55.
  • Extended Day: 8:30am–4pm, $65.

Children can bring lunch from home or have a lunch option added, and each child receives an ice block during the day. Check the programme page for available days and booking details. A general entry ticket doesn’t book a place in the supervised programme.

A few tips before you head out

  • Pack socks: everyone entering the playground needs them, including adults and babies. Grippy socks are available to buy.
  • Choose your day: match the activity to your child’s interests and allow time around the advertised session.
  • Check your ticket: our then-current school holiday discounted ticket is valid from 26 September to 11 October 2026. Follow the ticket page for age options and pricing.
  • Plan for younger siblings: allow for snacks, naps and breaks rather than trying to do everything in one visit.
  • Stay and supervise: family entry and supervised Holiday Programme bookings are different services.

We’re at 17 Ride Way in Rosedale, close to Albany and an option for families coming from Browns Bay, Mairangi Bay, Glenfield, Greenhithe and the surrounding North Shore. You’ll find more practical details in our rules and FAQs.
